How To Get Published

Lisa learned the hard way how to get published. "For five years I got nothing but rejection letters," she says. "But then I got published in one of the best markets of the industry which states they are not a beginners markets." Her writing career took off in 2000.

Obviously Lisa made all the mistakes a writer can make when they first start out. "I quit school at 13 and ran away, so my grammar and punctuation was really poor," she admits. "But Guideposts liked my writing style, story structure, and voice so much, that over the next five years, they took me under their wing to trained me how to write a variety of short stories and articles."

Over the past 10 years Lisa has worked as a ghost writer, travel writer, and assigned writer for more than 30 prominent magazines. She has 100+ articles and stories published, has won numerous contests and awards, and has 5 + books on the market. Many of her stories have appeared in other books. And she currently she teaches writing workshops both online and in classroom settings.

"If I can accomplish something this awesome with only a 7th grade education, anyone can do it," Lisa says. "All they need is the proper training to avoid making the same mistakes I made."
