Training Dogs To Heel & Heal

Lisa Teaches Dog Obedience & Pet Therapy

Above, Award-Winning Certified Pet Therapist, Lisa Freeman, teaches Baaza, a one-year-old Shitzu, the ropes of Pet Therapy.

Baaza, a Shitzu, is a born Natural.

But quite honestly, some dogs take more work than others. Some dogs make better therapy dogs than others. And some dogs just take longer to reach the goal of becoming certified. And still some dogs just are not cut out for this type of work at all.

Size & Breed of Dogs Doesn't Matter--Puppies Can Even Be Trained.

There are no special breed requirements. Basically you can judge a dog/pup simply by their temperament and personality. If they're fun loving, gentle, easy going, and love people, chances are they will make awesome therapy dogs.

All puppies can be loving, but they can also be playful, nippy at times, and take you for a run if you're not careful. However, if you have a dog that is more aggressive, has to be in control all the time, and doesn't do well around people, chances are this is not the right position for your dog.

Although Basic Dog Obedience Classes Should be Taught, Not Every Puppy or Dog is Cut Out to do Pet Therapy.

Pet Therapy is a volunteer service. You don't get paid any money to visit or even get reimbursed for the gas you use. However, the rewards far outweigh the little bit of work and gas it will cost you.

Pet Therapy is Rewarding for Puppies, Dogs, and their Owners!

Just to see how your dog can bring a smile to the face of a crying sick child or an elderly person who may be crippled or shut in, will give you all the pay you need! At least it does for me!

Not only will you be reaching others, but it will give you and your dog the opportunity to do something fun and amazing together. Since Snickers and I began pet therapy, there's a bond between us that nothing else in this world can compare to!

Aside from that, Snickers and I have already won two awards. After only 6 months of being certified we got the TDIA Award for logging on more than 50 Therapy Visits. And this year we are due to receive the TDIAO Award for logging on more than 150 Therapy Visits.

As you can see the rewards are tremendous! So give me a call or shoot me an email anytime. I'd be happy to discuss how we can get you and your dog on the way to becoming certified too!
