Lisa is eager to share her talents and testimony about how she became a published author. With very little high school and no formal education, Lisa landed her first writing job with Guideposts for Teens Magazine! And her first year writing, she won the Writer of the Year Award at the American Christian Writer's in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Since then, she's won numerous awards and freelanced for more than twenty magazines. Now she teaches writing courses to others--online and in group, seminar settings. (For fees and classes see below). Of course, she knows none of this would be possible without her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Lisa has other testimonies to share as well. A life-long battle with fear, depression, and anxiety disorders--left her a victim, trapped in her own home for over two years (agoraphobic), afraid to drive, enter a grocery store, or even step outside. Today she walks freely--and not only writes for life--but she speaks about her new found freedom in life!

Lisa has worked in Youth & Women's ministry for the past twelve years. She also speaks at churches, conferences, schools, and other organizations.

Lisa is excited about her newest book "Run For Your Life" (a true story about her life as a runaway teen) which was released Oct 2005. But she's more excited about how God is not only using her, but also her family and dog, Snickers, to stop abuse in its tracks with a new program they've started "Take A Bite Out Of Abuse".

"I know I can't openly talk about my faith in the schools, but I can share how my poor choices led to more abuse and hopefully let them see that they have the choice to Run To Life, not to all the things I did."

Although writing is her first love, speaking and teaching rank second. She enjoys speaking to individuals of all ages, races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds.

Aside from speaking to groups, Lisa also hosted a local television ministry for over four years entitled "A Time To Heal". She premiered as a guest speaker on Family Life Radio for a program entitled Family Forum about her book, "The Pictures That Destroy the Mind". In January 2007, she was a special guest on TCT Alive to discuss her ministry and new program.

Recently Lisa was the keynote speaker at a Community Singles group where she shared her life of abuse, and how God brought her from writer to speaker. In May, 2007, she gave a Mother's Day Presentation entitled "A Mother's Vision" on Dating Violence while Snickers put on a trick presentation at the Durand Church of God.

Lisa is excited about speaking to larger groups of people. She is available to speak to writing groups, schools, churches, and other organizations, both secular and religious. Lisa resides in Michigan with her husband, John, their four children, and dog, Snickers. John and Lisa enjoy traveling and look forward to a prolific life of speaking, teaching, and ministering to various groups, churches, and organizations all over the USA. Currently Lisa & John are attending Faith Christian Family Church in Lapeer where they are attending Bible College through the International School of Ministry. They will graduate in March 2008.
